报告题目: When Computational Mathematics Meet with Stochastic Problems
报告摘要:This talk will introduce two stochastic problems met in my current research. One is approximation for integrated density of states, the other is using generalized Wiener process to describe multiple Coulomb scattering. Both problems come from physics background. The former problem origins from Anderson localization, which was awarded the Nobel Prize in Physics in 1977. We present the Weyl’s formula based on an effective confining potential turning out to be a remarkable approximation. The latter problem is mainly related to proton computed tomography (pCT) in medical physics. We try to find a refinement for its mathematical descriptions.
