报告题目:Spectral Analysis of Laplacian Operator on Data Graph and Its Application in Clustering
报告摘要:It is well-known that the spectrum of the Laplacian operator on a manifold presents geometric features of the manifold. A graph on a data set equips the set a discrete manifold structure. It is natural that the Laplacian operator on a data graph presents the geometric features of the data too. In this presentation, we will use the spectrum of the Laplacian on the data graph to study its connectedness. To reduce the computational complexity in study of the problem on data of big size, we introduce the compressing graph and discus the relation between the spectra of the original graph and its compressing graph. We also show the application of the spectral analysis in data clustering and in construction of data trees.
